Position Summary: The "Player-Coach" Architect

The Sales Leader at Forrest is the engine of our next phase of evolution. You are responsible for transforming our commercial infrastructure from a founder-led, referral-based model into a proactive, scalable growth engine. The Sales Leader at Forrest is responsible for driving the company’s growth engine by identifying the right prospects, understanding their deepest challenges, and connecting them to the transformational work Forrest delivers.

This role will be the "architect" of our sales department while simultaneously acting as our lead "hunter," carrying a personal quota and closing high-value deals. You aren't just selling a service; you are a trusted advisor mapping the needs of digital transformation leaders to strategic solutions that elevate their humanity.

Accountable For:

The Sales Leader will collaboratively drive growth by owning:

  • Revenue & Gross Margin Targets

  • Prospecting & Outreach

  • Audience & ICP Refinement

  • Market Segmentation & Targeting

  • Discovery & Solution Design

  • Proposal Creation & Deal Strategy

  • Pricing & Scoping (in Collaboration with Operations)

The Sales Leader owns the quality and predictability of Forrest's growth, specifically:

  • Profitable Revenue Growth: Meeting annual revenue targets while maintaining strict responsibility for gross margins to ensure the agency's financial health.

  • Personal Sales Quota: Identifying, nurturing, and closing a personal target of high-fit opportunities.

  • Sales Infrastructure: Extracting and codifying the Forrest sales approach into a repeatable sales system (messaging, process, and tools) for current and future team members.

  • Resource Planning & Forecasting: Providing accurate pipeline visibility to the Operations team to ensure we have the capacity to deliver the work you sell.

  • Strategic Handoff Excellence: Ensuring a seamless transition from "prospect" to "client" so that no success criteria are lost.

Key Job Functions:

1. Sales Strategy & Architecture 

  • ICP & Audience Refinement: Define and evolve our Ideal Client Profile, focusing on digital transformation leaders who align with our expertise and values.

  • The Forrest Sales Playbook: Author and maintain the agency’s sales manual, including messaging frameworks, objection handling, and discovery question banks.

  • Productization Support: Partner with the CCO and COO to "productize" our services into standardized, scalable packages that shorten the sales cycle.

  • Tech Stack Management: Implement and administer our CRM (HubSpot), ensuring rigorous data hygiene and accurate reporting.

2. Execution & Pipeline Generation

  • Outbound Prospecting and Opportunity Sourcing: Move Forrest beyond referrals by building a consistent sales engine that creates predictable, meaningful pipeline.

  • Discovery Leadership: Ask the right questions, listen deeply, and connect the dots between a client’s ambition and Forrest’s capabilities.

  • Proposal & Deal Strategy: Create value-based proposals that articulate ROI and strategy, and close deals. Ensure every proposal reflects Forrest's high standards of clarity, empathy and world-class execution.

3. The Sales-Delivery Interface

  • Margin Discipline: Ensure all deals are scoped for profitability.

  • Technical Review & Scoping: Work closely with Operations to review every proposal before it reaches the client to verify deliverability and resourcing.

  • Client Dossier & Handoff: Own the "Sales-to-Delivery" protocol, transferring all discovery insights to the creative and project management teams.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Service Sales DNA: 10+ years of experience selling intangible, high-value professional services (marketing, strategy, or creative consulting).

  • The "Hunter-Builder" Profile: Demonstrated success in both high-velocity outbound "hunting" and the "building" of sales processes.

  • Agency Context: Deep understanding of the small agency environment, including the nuances of utilization rates and gross profit margins.

  • Tech Industry Fluency: Experience marketing to or selling in the digital transformation space (ServiceNow, Microsoft, Salesforce, SaaS platforms).

  • Accountable Communicator: Exceptional ability to distill complex strategic needs into clear narratives.

Location: Remote, Full-time

Compensation Structure: Base + Commission

Time Commitment: 40+ hours per week
